Broken Compass and the Ongoing Search for a Way Back Home

This is a poem about being lost and drifting, as if out to sea, with no sense of place or purpose. And without the comfort of someone at your side

One more sleepless day

One more lonely night

Lost in unchartered lands

Surrounded by unfavorable seas.

I’ve struggled for so long

I’ve struggled to no avail

The journey has taken so much

And given nothing in return.

I’m so far now

From where I started

A million plus miles

From my sanctified place.

I’m not quite sure

Just how I got here

To this strange city

Of cold, misty dreams.

I do know for certain

I just don’t want

To be here now

To be here anytime.
